I hope all of you have had a fun and eventful summer! It has been kind of a wild ride with the above normal snowpack and runoff this season. It was exciting to see all the water in the rivers after last year’s seriously dry conditions. The fishing season got off to a bit of a slow start with all the high water but when it got going it was amazing. Everyone seemed to agree that everything this summer was about a month late!  However, there is no doubt that fall is here by the temperatures this morning.

It was great seeing all of you that made it to our highway cleanup earlier this month. Everyone enjoyed the great fall weather and catching up on each other’s summer adventures. Judging by the amount of trash we collected it was a busy season along Highway 149!

Please check out the information in this newsletter regarding our September meeting this month. After our summer break we begin our regular chapter meetings this month on Tuesday the 24th in a new meeting location (Alamosa Senior Center, north end of Cole Park in Alamosa). Even though we have taken a break from meetings for the summer the chapter board has been busy with projects in progress and potential future projects. We will be providing project updates in future newsletters and meetings.

I encourage everyone to put our meetings and events or their calendars and attend when able. We have had to cancel a couple of workdays and events recently due to lack of volunteers. We appreciate any help you can provide and for keeping us on your radar!

Thanks for reading.
