A Few Lines From the President

Hopefully everyone’s New Year is off to a good start! Let’s hope that things continue to improve in this new year and that we are finally able to put Covid-19 in the past. Having said that it will still be a difficult journey and things will not move quickly.

At this time, it does not look likely that we will be able to hold our Annual Fundraiser Auction this year. The SLVTU Board of Directors will be discussing the auction and other potential fundraising opportunities at our annual board retreat (virtual) later this month. We will provide an update as soon as we are able. We still have projects scheduled for this year most of which are already funded so the lack of an auction this year should not impact the chapter’s ability to get them accomplished.

We do hope to hold some safe in-person events such as our highway cleanup days and those dates will be announced in the newsletter once they are set.

We do not know at this time when we will be able to return to in-person regular meetings – more than likely it will not be until this fall…hopefully! However, we do have a great virtual meeting planned for this month on Tuesday the 26th at 7 PM. Please look for the details in this month’s newsletter. Many thanks to Kevin Terry and Doug Camp for their work in getting our program together. I hope as many of you as possible can join us!

As our chapter works to keep up the mission of Trout Unlimited moving along in these difficult times please know that we really appreciate your support!

Thank you,

Mark
